Poster sessions are an excellent format for authors to present their papers and interact with conference attendees for in-depth technical discussions. The poster should be more of an introduction to the paper so as to initiate a conversation that can get into greater details.
For your virtual poster, please include short bullets highlighting:With the virtual venue, we use Zoom Meetings for all of our sessions, and we take advantage of Breakout Rooms in zoom to accommodate the poster sessions. Attendees come to the Zoom Session and move between Breakout Rooms to talk to each of the poster presenters. The intent is for the session to be very interactive between the poster presenter(s) and the attendees.
We suggest preparing either 4-6 slides or a digital poster that provide graphics and material for discussing your paper. To prepare a digital poster, we have seen success using PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote to create a very large slide. The size of the very large slide can be set in Page Layout, which is usually in the File menu. We make a single slide 3ft x 4ft (or something similar like 100 cm x 130 cm). Then when we present the digital poster in the Breakout Session, we can zoom in and out of sections of the digital poster as the discussion progresses between different aspects of the paper.
